It depends! Peak moving season fills up quickly for us, so it’s important that you reach out to us as soon as you have a specific day in mind. Even if you reach out a few months in advance, it allows us to coordinate with your schedule.

Yes, our hourly minimum is only two hours.

If you are limited by any date and time restraints, we recommend scheduling your move as far in advance as possible, especially if you planning on moving from a high-rise building or moving to a building with elevator reservations.

Moving in the summer can be challenging as well, (the time where everyone you know is moving) We recommend booking your move as far in advance as possible.

We accept cash, BANK TRANSFERS, and all major credit cards. For card payments we required the Card owner to be present during the move with a valid Government issued ID for security reasons.

THE MOVERS CHICAGO does require A deposit AND cancellation fees are waived if canceled 48 hours before move date, so there is no downside to booking your move early. If you have any last-minute changes on your moving plan, our team will do everything they can to re-schedule your move.

THE MOVERS CHICAGO offers pianos moving services, we would be happy to relocate it for you. Pool tables- We recommend a dedicated professional pool table company to disassemble and reassemble your prized pool table.

Tipping is certainly optional, but our crews appreciate it if you decide to provide gratuity for exceptional service. The amount is left to your discretion, but we recommend $5-$10 per mover per hour of excellent service.
While damage is rare, extenuating circumstances do sometimes occur that can result in damaged articles. Our team will always do our best to repair any damages quickly and to your satisfaction, but if you need to report a damage claim, simply contact your move coordinator and they will work with you to take care of everything right away.

All OUR moves Include loading, transport, unloading, disassembly, and reassembly of furniture, and all moving equipment (dollies, straps, and tools).  Custom floor and wall protection are available by request.   Any additional custom services, charges, or conditions relating to your move, will be included in your cost breakdown.  Additional services can also be requested to be added on the day of the move.  Two wardrobe box rentals will be provided free of charge on the day of your move, which can be used for hanging clothes, bedding, pillows. Additional wardrobe cartons can be rented.  large speed packs (oversized bins) will also be included with each move and can be placed on wheels to easily transport loose items.

While basic moving equipment is standard with each move, your move coordinator will itemize any additional materials you may need access to on move day.

An estimate is just that, an estimate, so it is possible the actual hours of move may differ slightly. To ensure you only pay for the time you use, all bills are prorated to the closest 15 minutes (after the 2.5-hour minimum has been met).
While you are more than welcome to help get things ready for the moving crew, our insurance does not allow anyone other than THE MOVERS CHICAGO crew members to load and unload the moving truck. We encourage you to take this time to kick back and relax as the heavy lifting gets done for you!
